What Can I Expect At Crossroads?

Don't know what to expect when you get to Crossroads? Check out some of these areas to get a feel for what you'll experience!

Music

In the Bible, one of the biggest ways to praise God was through music. David, a great king of Israel in the Bible, was a musician and songwriter. Music has a way of communicating with our hearts in a way that words sometimes can't. It connects with a person deep down and we believe that this is one way that God speaks to us. He can stir something in us while we listen to music when words fail. It's a great gift that God has given to us, and we're going to use it!

Communion

Communion is a part of the service where we take a look back and remember the sacrifice that God made when His son, Jesus, died on the cross 2000 years ago. It's part of our worship because it's a reminder of what God gave up for us, and just how much He loves us.

Participation

We encourage an environment where people can participate as much or as little as they want. There are activities during the service that encourage interaction, upbeat music, and plenty of free food and coffee (for those of us who feel that food is the REAL way to the soul!). During the service, you'll see people who raise their hands and people who don't, people who clap their hands and people who don't. There are a variety of ways that people interact with music and teaching, and we want you to participate in whatever way you feel comfortable. We want you to enjoy your time here- church shouldn't be a chore!

Messages

The teaching at Crossroads is down to earth and practical. We use humor, video, props, and object lessons to get the point across. Our desire is to connect the Bible to our lives today! The tone is affirming and empowering not judgmental or condemning. We want to build you up and prepare you to face daily life with the power of God!

Offering

During the service we take up an offering. This goes to further the ministry of the church- growing God's people spiritually and reaching out to others to show them God's love. If you're not a member, or are just stopping by to check us out, don't feel obligated to give.

New Friendships

Despite the 2.5 million people in Brooklyn alone, this city can get quite lonely. One of the things you'll find at Crossroads is a group of people who are open to new friendships, and people who will love you no matter where you are in life. There are ample opportunities at Crossroads to connect with other people on the journey!
